Automatic alerts

You can enable automatic alerts to stay informed about the status of your On-prem Agent (OPA). This feature sends email notifications whenever the OPA disconnects from Workato. This ensures that you receive prompt alerts on issues with your OPA Agent, and prevents disruptions to recipes that rely on OPA.

OPA Agent disconnection types

There are two types of agent disconnections:

Type of disconnection	Description
Unexpected disconnection	This type of disconnection occurs without prior notice and is usually caused by unforeseen issues such as a network outage on the user side, connectivity issues, or hardware failures. This disconnection type can cause immediate disruptions to recipes relying on the OPA.
Expected disconnection	This type of disconnection occurs when you manually shut down the OPA.

You can configure automatic alerts with the following specifications to ensure a prompt response:

• Disconnection types: this enables you configure the disconnection events you plan to monitor, including Unexpected agent disconnection and Manual agent shutdown events.
• Alert recipients: this enables you to configure the email recipients who receive the alerts immediately whenever the OPA disconnects from Workato.

DEFAULT TOGGLE SETTING

The Unexpected agent disconnection alert is enabled by default for all users.

Navigate to the Settings view under the on-prem group page.

Select the Email alerts tab.

Go to the Recipients section and check the email addresses of the technical contacts who should receive the alerts. Email alerts are sent to the technical contacts defined in the Workspace admin settings.

Use the toggle to enable or disable Unexpected agent disconnection and Manual agent shutdown alerts. The Unexpected agent disconnection option is enabled by default.

Click Save to save your automatic alerts configuration.

Email notifications are sent to the technical contacts you specify when the OPA is unexpectedly disconnected or manually shut down.

You can click the View on-prem agent button in the email alert to view the OPA page with the disconnected agent.
