Google Drive (opens new window) is a popular file storage and collaboration environment used by consumers and businesses.

The Google Drive connector enables you to build powerful automations around Google Drive and connect with other applications.

The Google Drive connector uses the Google Drive API v3 (opens new window).

Connection setup

The Google Drive connector uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. Your Google account must have Edit permission for all files and folders that you plan to use in Workato recipes.

Complete the following steps to create a Google Drive connection in Workato:

Sign in to Workato.

Select the project where you plan to store the Google Drive connection.

Click Create > Connection.

Search for and select the Google Drive connector.

Enter a name for your connection in the Connection name field.

Use the Location drop-down menu to select the project or folder where you plan to store the connection.

Use the Authentication type drop-down menu to select either the OAuth 2.0 or service account authentication type.

Optional. Go to Advanced settings and select Requested permissions.

Enter a custom OAuth profile in the Custom OAuth profile field, if applicable.

Click Sign in with Google.

Click Allow to give Workato access to your Google Drive.
