# Email notifications
Workato sends app-users email notifications about the following task-related activities:
When a task is assigned
The user who made the request and the assignees are notified.
When a task is completed (approved/rejected)
The user who made the request and the assignees, except the user who completed the task, receive a notification.
When a task expires
The user who made the request and the task assignees receive a notification.
When a comment is made on a task in the Apps portal
The user who made the request and task assignees receive a notification.
# Disable notifications
Email notifications are enabled by default. App-users can disable notifications in the Workflow apps portal.
Complete the following steps to disable email notifications for Workflow apps:
Sign in to the Workflow apps portal.
Click your user icon and select Manage your account. The Account settings interface opens.
Select Notifications.
Use the Receive email notifications toggle to disable or enable email notifications.
Disable email notifications
Click Save preferences.
