# Pricing FAQs
Find answers to frequently asked questions about Workato pricing.
What is usage in Workato?
Our usage-based pricing is designed to charge you for what you use. Our usage strategy enables you to use a billing unit for all of our capabilities. This approach allows you to allocate resources based on your needs while maintaining price predictability and value.
Workato tracks usage separately for each product capability using standard usage metrics.
How is usage counted in a Workato recipe job?
The usage in a job depend on the specific trigger event data, logic of the recipe, and product capabilities utilized. Workato calculates usage based on the following rules:
- Executed steps only: Successful actions contribute to overall usage. Skipped actions due to conditional steps and control flows aren't included.
- Successful execution only: Actions that fail or encounter errors don't contribute to overall usage. However, if a job fails or is canceled, only the successfully completed actions before that point are counted.
- Certain features are additive: Usage for certain features, such as IDP and Event streams, are calculated in addition to the primary usage of the recipe. Recipes used by Workflow apps are also billable.
- Usage is only counted once: Workato counts usage only once per category. For example, IDP is measured in Pages processed and IDP steps don't contribute separately to usage calculations.
Do failed actions contribute towards usage calculations in Workato?
No. Failed actions aren't counted as usage. Only successfully run actions contribute to your usage count.
Does rerunning jobs add to my usage?
Yes. Rerun jobs are added to your usage calculations.
How do I find the amount of usage per job?
To view usage per job, open a job and check its usage count. If a recipe calls other recipes, the parent job doesn't display total usage across all child jobs. Each child job reports its own usage separately.
