# Genies configuration
Genies are an Agentic feature available to customers with an active Workato subscription. Ensure that Genies are enabled in your account before you use this feature. Contact your Customer Success representative to enable Genies if you don't see the genies option in your workspace.
# Core configuration requirements
Genies consist of the following core components:
- Genie profile
- Chat interface
- AI model
- Knowledge base with at least one knowledge recipe
- Skills with at least one skill recipe
CHAT INTERFACE AND AI MODEL CONFIGURATION
Genies can only be configured to use Slack or Microsoft Teams as the chat interface. Support for additional chat interface apps is in development. Additionally, the AI model can only be configured to use Workato AI. Support for additional LLMs is in development.
# User groups
You must add users to Agentic with your external IdP before you can add them to a User group. You can assign access to specific genies for each group. Each group must have at least one user assigned to it.
# Create a User group
Complete the following steps to create a User group.
Sign in to your Workato account.
Use the platform drop-down menu to select Agentic. The Your genies page displays by default.
Switch to Agentic
Click User access in the sidebar. The Users tab displays by default.
Click the User groups tab.
User access > User groups
Click Create user group.
Provide a name for the group in the Group name field.
Create a user group
Select the users you plan to add to the group. Each group must include at least one user.
Click Create.
# User group genie access
You can provide access to specific genies after you create a User group. Complete the following steps to grant a user group access to a genie:
Sign in to your Workato account.
Use the platform drop-down menu to select Agentic. The Your genies page displays by default.
Switch to Agentic
Click User access in the sidebar. The Users tab displays by default.
Click the User groups tab.
User access > User groups
Click the user group name you plan to provide with genie access. The user group Users page displays by default.
Click Access in the sidebar.
Click Go to genies. The Your genies page displays.
Click Go to genies
Click Access and then click Add user groups. The Add user groups modal displays.
Use the User groups drop-down menu to select the user groups that require access to the genie.

Click OK when you're finished adding user groups and then click Add.
# Genies configuration limits
Genies have the following configuration limits:
- 50 genies per Workspace
- 1 chat interface per genie
- 1 knowledge base per genie
- 1 AI LLM to power the genie’s core functionality
# View and configure genies
The Your genies page displays by default when you switch from Orchestrate to Agentic. This page enables you to view, configure, and manage your genies.
Sign in to your Workato account.
Use the platform drop-down menu to select Agentic. The Your genies page displays by default.
Switch to Agentic
Click Create genie or Create your first genie. The Basic setup page displays.
