How to connect to PagerDuty on Workato

Field	Description
Connection name	Give this connection a unique name that identifies which PagerDuty instance connected.

How to create a PagerDuty API key

Create an API key (i.e. PagerDuty integration key) to connector to Workato. PagerDuty supports two types of API keys:

1. General access API key: This API key has access to all objects in your PagerDuty instance.
2. Personal API key: This API keys is restricted according to the user's permissions. This requires PagerDuty advanced permissions (opens new window).

Once you have decided which API key to use. Follow these instructions to create your PagerDuty API key.

Go to Apps & Add-Ons > API Access and click Create New API Key.

If you are creating a Personal API key, go to Profile > User settings.

Enter a Description that will help you identify the key later on (for example, "Workato integration key". Ensure that you do not select Read-only. This connector requires read and write permissions to function properly.

Provide the API key with write permissions

Once your key has been created, store it is a secure location. This API key will be used to authenticated with Workato.

Permissions

Ensure that the API key provisioned contains write permission. When create the API access key, make sure that Read-only API key is left un-selected.

Required user permissions

You must have an Admin, Global Admin or Account Owner role within PagerDuty to access General Access REST API keys.

If you do not have this role, contact an Admin or Account Owner within your organization to create this API key.
